Idiocracy and the USA
So I happened to watch the movie "Idiocracy" a couple of weeks ago with my teenage son. At first i was like, "yet another awe inspiring choice of television programming by my bone head of a teenager". Now before you chastise me for calling him a bone head may I politely ask if you have a teenager? Ever raise one? No? well shut up then and talk to me when you have. In any case I thought to myself this movie is going to be one of those Jackass kind of things that my two boys insist on putting itno their brains on a daily...no hourly basis. ( a blog for another time i guess) But as I watched i couldn't help but notice the astute parallels the director and creators of this movie had made to what is going on in our country at a frightening pace. The latest incarnation of this behavior is the new "enhanced" TSA pat down and the general responses by our sexually numb, girls gone wild, porno fueled society. I think the jokes go something like this...." when you get an enhanced pat down in an airport make sure you post to your facebook that you are now in a relationship...yuk, yuk, yuk". Are you serious?
If you are a husband of a wife who happens to be a flight attendant or vice versa you would not want this happening to your spouse on a weekly basis. It is out of control. Prior to the new rules I witnessed a TSA agent arbitrarily ask Erin to... remove her very small, thin sweater in front of several other male TSA agents at Seattle Airport. This was two years ago. As she removed her sweater they were glancing at each other and smirking....she was wearing a sleeveless t-shirt underneath. Then the "goons' took a good look and said she could put her sweater back on....Erin was mortified because the sweater was part of the outfit. I am a guy...I know what they were doing...she had her airport ID with her!!!! If you havent looked lately...TSA agents can be anyone they hire at a MCDonalds....and there are a lot of shifty looking goofballs that are doing these so called enhanced feel ups. And we are laughing about it? Have people lost their minds? lost any sense of self respect and human diginity? What about our rights? So now we have taken the aforementioned incident and given these McDonalds level education government employees the right to "legally"? feel up anyone they so deem worthy of that attention? Really? Like I mentioned above...watch the movie "Idiocracy" and see if you don't notice that we are already on that path not only as law makers but as neutral participants and observers. It's all fun and games until it happens to you and your family.
